Through the Foodwise project, the municipal authorities are expected to strengthen in terms of the implementation of awareness and education actions for more sustainable food consumption and disposal practices.
The project will train up to 50 municipal employees from four countries (Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia), providing them with knowledge and tools to promote environmentally- friendly behaviors, both to residents and visitors to these areas. Through actions such as information/awareness campaigns and educational festivals, FoodWISE focuses on empowering local communities to prevent food waste and manage resources sustainably.
In Greece, the project will be implemented in the Municipality of Kavala as well as the Municipalities of Nea Propontida, Polygyrou, Sithonia and Aristotle in Chalkidiki Region.
FoodWise is a project developed within the framework of Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme co-funded by the European Union.
